In this ‘Impact From Home’ we will discuss sustainable fashion through a social lens with Supraja Suresh & Christian Smith of Fair Wear Foundation. We will specifically look at Fair Wear’s supply chain approach to transition the garment industry to a new normal -where the industry supports workers in realising their rights to safe, dignified, properly paid employment.
We will explore Fair Wear’s verification tools and how they offer real insight into a brands’ performance. We will also reflect on the importance of Human Rights Due Diligence in the context of an ever-changing apparel sector. Specifically discuss Leicester/Covid-19 as a starting point and explore why this work is so important for the brands and especially for the workers. Were your clothes made in an ethical way? It’s a simple question that can be difficult to answer in today’s world.
