Impact From Home #23 | Investing in Climate Adaptation and Resiliency
April 16 @ 12:00 - 13:00 CEST
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of today. Its impacts are already being felt by people and nature across the globe, with developing countries being most affected. The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD) enables private sector investment in projects aimed at climate adaptation and mitigation in developing countries. Rik and Aart will share their experience investing in climate solutions and adaptation projects in some of the OECD’s least developed nations.
The DFCD is managed by a pioneering consortium of Climate Fund Managers, WWF and SNV Netherlands, led by FMO. The fund forms an important instrument for the Dutch government’s efforts in contributing to the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This session will discuss:
- The DFCD mission and how it works in practice
- How the DFCD assesses the impact of prospective investments
- Why and how blended finance structures can help to catalyze and scale climate adaptation projects
This session will be kindly hosted by Marieke Boudeling of MJ Hudson Spring.
About the ‘Impact From Home’ virtual interview series
We’re all stuck at home, but the pursuit for positive impact continues!
Every other Friday at noon Net Impact Amsterdam takes to the internet to introduce you to some of the region (and beyond)’s top impact and sustainability professionals. Join us for virtual conversations via Zoom for the latest perspectives and insights to help you drive your impact mission forward, even from home.
This event is based on Zoom and will be recorded. Please join with your cameras on and curiosity high. We want this to be an interactive and open conversation, so be ready to ask questions. ‘Impact From Home’ is a collaborative meeting format, not a webinar.
Member gatherings in the age of COVID
To continue networking events while social distancing, we introduced the ‘Impact From Home’ virtual interview series. Every other Friday at noon, we invite different local impact thought leaders for a guided conversation with small groups of our members. Watch our favorites sessions from the year here
